Abstract: Stipa baicalensis meadow steppe is a native steppe type endemic to the eastern part of the central Asian steppe subregion in the Eurasian steppe region. Its steppe ecosystem is under the dual pressure of human disturbance and climate change. Based on long-term observation of plant community composition in the field fixed sample plot, this dataset collates plant community composition in Stipa baicalensis meadow steppe of Hulun Buir during 2009–2015, including plant name of sample plot, natural height of different species, abundance of different species and aboveground green standing crop of different species. Users can retrieve data by survey year and plant community composition. The establishment and sharing of long-term monitoring data set of Stipa baicalensis meadow steppe plant community in Hulun Buir can provide data support for the dynamic study of plant composition and community characteristics of this grassland type under the background of global climate change, and provide scientific and technological support for the in-depth understanding of ecosystem process and succession trend of Hulun Buir grassland, and further guide grassland ecological restoration and adaptive management.
