Abstract: As the core of hydrological cycle of terrestrial ecosystem, soil water is an important carrier of the material cycle and energy exchange of forest ecosystem, and lays an important role in the hydrological processes and nutrient circulation of forest ecosystems. It was one of the important indicators for long-term observation of terrestrial ecosystem water environment. Pursuant to the protocols for standard soil observation and measurement of CERN, the Gongga Mountain station has been carrying out long-term monitoring of soil moisture content. This dataset collected and processed soil moisture content of mature A. fabri forest, middle- aged A. fabri forest, succession forest of A. fabri and Populus purdomii, and the meteorological station of 3000 m. This provides data for understanding the soil moisture dynamic characteristics and its response to climate changes in this region. It is of great significance to the water balance, forest productivity, and ecological function maintenance of regional forest ecosystem.
