Abstract: An image composite method was applied and Landsat historical images were employed to generate seasonal images with lowest cloud composite at the pixel level which implemented with Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform. Based on a water index method and correctness procedure, we obtained 11 series of Qinghai Lake body boundary during 1987–2017 in this research through modification and validation by making use of generated seasonal images data. The dataset has a long time series and geometric properties of the lake, which can be used as the basic data for assessing the temporal-spatial changes of the lake and the changes in water volume of the lake. In addition, it can also be used as an important basis for the changes of water resources, climate change and the relationship of the lake in this region.
