Abstract: The gas resources of Upper Paleozoic in the northern part of Ordos Basin are abundant.He-8 Member is the main gas production in Sulige gas field. But at present, the research of He-8 Member is mainly focused on core, logging and earthquake and fine research on outcrops in this is still rare, especially the study on microscopic characteristic system of sandstone. Based on the field survey of outcrops in the periphery of Ordos Basin, the Tianshengqiao section in fugu, Yulin, which has the same provenance as the He-8 member of Sulige gas field and has a relatively consistent sedimentary environment, is selected for field survey, description and intensive sampling. The rock types, structural characteristics, mineral composition, diagenesis and other aspects are systematically studied, and a complete sandstone microscopic image dataset is classified and sorted out. It is expected to provide valuable basic data for the study of sandstone characteristics and controlling factors of high-quality reservoirs in the upper Paleozoic of the northern Ordos Basin.
