Abstract: Mixed evergreen and deciduous broadleaved forests are the most representative vegetation type in the subtropical region of China. Based on a long-time litter observation of field sampling plots, the dataset integrated monthly litter recovery amount and annual litter standing crop of the typical mixed evergreen and deciduous broadleaved forests in Shennongjia during the period from 2009 to 2016. It comprised dry weights of branch, leaf, flower and fruit, bark, moss and lichen and other debris. Users can retrieve the data based on litter type, time or organs. Creating and sharing the dataset can help provide data for litter dynamic study of this forest type as well as for litter comparative study among various forest types under the background of global climate change. Additionally, it can also promote the research development on litter and mixed evergreen and deciduous broadleaved forests.
