Abstract & Keywords
Abstract: Carbon flux components of the terrestrial ecosystem including gross primary production, ecosystem respiration and net ecosystem production, serve as the most direct ecosystem indices for the measurement of the material production capacity, carbon sequestration effect and climate regulation intensity of ecosystems. Based on systematically collected carbon flux components data measured by eddy covariance technique during the period of 1990–2015 in Asian region (excluding China region), we constructed the dataset of terrestrial ecosystems carbon flux component in Asian region after data quality control. The dataset contained multi-years’ annual records of gross primary production, ecosystem respiration and net ecosystem production from 45 typical terrestrial ecosystems in Asia, covering seven climate zones (tropical, subtropical, warm temperate, temperate, cool temperate, boreal and subarctic) and four ecosystem types (forest, grassland, cropland and wetland). In addition, the dataset also contains the meteorological and vegetation information, such as the latitude, longitude, altitude, vegetation type, mean annual temperature and annual total precipitation. This dataset is expected to provide important data support for regional carbon budget assessment, studies on the response of carbon cycling processes to climate change, and the optimization and verification of carbon cycle models.
