Abstract & Keywords
Abstract: Wave energy is top-notch clean energy and the most abundant energy in the ocean. Based on the wind field reanalysis dataset of European Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasts, We carried out our research and obtained the data of the significant wave heights in the northern Indian Ocean in the last 10 years (2009–2018) through processing the significant wave height output by 3 h in WAVEWATCH-III mode. In addition to data validation in shallow and deep water and under general and special conditions, detailed access to the data is also available in the paper. The sharing of the data is conducive to better access and utilization, providing assistance to researchers in need, and supporting the research and development of Marine energy.

Dataset compositionThis dataset is the format of NC data, entitled “Dataset of significant wave height simulations in the Northern Indian Ocean from 2009 to 2018.zip”. The dataset consists of 10 natural years (2009–2018, 3.94 GB per year), a total of 39.4 GB. Each natural year dataset is named after the natural year and contains longitude and latitude, significant wave height, time, period, and so on.
